We are delighted that Carol Bartlett of Sew Lovely in Penarth is going to be our Masterclass tutor on 21st and 22nd August at Swansea Museum. She will guide you through the re-creation of a treasured photo/image into a wonderful piece of textile art.
Below is the image of her snapshot from 1970 lovingly changed with fabrics, lace, trims, hand and machine stitch into special artwork that captures the elements of that very happy time of her family's trip to Cornwall on a total budget of £18 and a box of cornflakes!
So join her on 21st and 22nd of August to turn one of your favourite pictures into a family heirloom as well. This will be a two day workshop, on day one you will gather the elements to create your textile piece from your favourite image, being able to sift through fabrics, trimming and lace that recapture that time. Then on Day two Carol will guide you through the process and help you with collage applique, paper-piecing, hand and machine stitching. A fabulous two day workshop please join us!
