Experimental Samplers using paper and stitch.
This amazing workshop will combine Jennifer’s trademark experimental techniques with traditional embroidery techniques.
On the first day you will create surfaces by waxing, trapping, layering and embedding into plastics and papers.
On the second day you will learn a wide range of hand and machine techniques, such as Picot stitch, covered bindings, button loops, pin pricking, covered buttons, Suffolk Puffs etc, to embellish the work to transform a pile of samples into beautiful paper samplers.
All materials and equipment will be provided, but you may wish to bring a basic sewing kit, haberdashery to incorporate and your own papers, photos and imagery to fit into the sea theme.
