"Little Treasured Picture in Stitch"
You will make an A4 size textile picture based on your own treasured photograph or original drawing, that you will need to bring with you.
On day one you'll learn how to choose appropriate fabrics and trimmings from a huge choice of colours and textures in order to interpret your image in stitch.
We'll explore hand stitching and free motion embroidery, I'll demonstrate how to literally draw with your needle. (It takes practice but is a lot of fun.)
And we'll compose the picture.
On Day 2, we'll evaluate your composition and make any changes if needed, then in a relaxed atmosphere we'll have a day of stitch consolidating your picture and adding
the extra detail to complete your artwork.
The picture attached is an example of one of my own treasured pics.
It is of me when I was 3 years old with my Mum and the Austin A40 that my Dad drove all the way to Cornwall with the handbrake on, after just passing his test. We did the whole holiday on £18 and a box of cornflakes. It makes me smile when I see it.
